EnsoPave – introduced as TerraMix in the Philippines – has been nominated for the Deutscher Nachhaltigkeitspreis Produkte 2027, the German Sustainability Award for Products.
Road construction has traditionally been part of the carbon problem. We believe it can become part of the solution.

What makes EnsoPave / TerraMix different? Cold instead of hot.
The system is produced and applied without the energy-intensive drying and heating processes required for conventional hot-mix asphalt. Carbon storage instead of compensation.
Biochar is integrated directly into the pavement structure, storing biogenic carbon over the long term. Less material.
The system’s structural performance can enable thinner pavement structures and, depending on the project design, reduce or eliminate conventional asphalt base layers.
Local instead of long-distance. Locally available aggregates and suitable recycled mineral materials can be used, reducing the demand for virgin resources, transport distances and truck movements.
Decentralized instead of plant-dependent. EnsoPave / TerraMix does not depend on a stationary hot-mix asphalt plant. Production can be adapted to local materials, local infrastructure and the specific requirements of each project.
The result: Lower energy consumption. Lower process emissions. Less material. Simpler logistics. Shorter construction times. Reduced overall project costs. And through the combination of avoided emissions and long-term carbon storage, a negative net CO₂ balance can be achieved – depending on the individual project configuration.
